Education: Investing in our Future

As the son of a public school teacher, I know firsthand that education is the gateway to opportunity. But our students are being shortchanged by policies that funnel our tax dollars into unaccountable private schools while starving the public schools that serve the vast majority of Arkansas kids.

As your State Representative, I’ll fight to keep public money in public schools, expand mental health support in classrooms, and strengthen partnerships with families and community programs. I’ll also champion access to apprenticeship and trade programs for students who don’t see a four-year degree as their future, because college isn’t the only route to success.

And no matter what path a student chooses, they deserve the tools to manage their future. That’s why I’ll push to implement financial literacy education in middle and high schools across Arkansas, teaching students about budgeting, credit, saving, and investing, so they can graduate ready to thrive in the real world.

By equipping students with the skills to make informed financial decisions, we can help them avoid debt traps, build wealth, and break the cycle of poverty. That’s real opportunity, and it can start in the classroom.

Economy: Creating Pathways to Prosperity

Too often, economic development in Arkansas is code for tax breaks to big corporations while working families get left behind. I believe public investment should actually serve the public. That means ensuring economic development programs are creating good-paying jobs, not just boosting profits for out-of-state consultants. I’ll fight for policies that prioritize local hiring, support small businesses, and expand access to vocational training and apprenticeships.

To truly empower hardworking Arkansans, we must also invest in financial literacy. Economic opportunity means little without the tools to navigate it. That’s why I’ll advocate for financial education programs in schools, community centers, and workforce development initiatives, so individuals can make informed decisions about credit, saving, homeownership, and entrepreneurship. By equipping our communities with financial knowledge, we can break cycles of poverty and help families build lasting wealth.

Together, we can build an economy where financial success isn’t reserved only for the well-connected but available to all hardworking Arkansans.

Healthcare:
Keeping People and Communities Healthy

From PTSD in veterans to trauma in our youth, I’ve seen how access to care can change lives and how the lack of it can derail them. In Arkansas, too many people are still falling through the cracks. Our state has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the country, especially for Black women. That’s not a coincidence. It’s a direct result of political decisions that treat healthcare like a bargaining chip.

Going to the doctor should not be a luxury. And it shouldn’t depend on your income, your ZIP code, or your employer. I support expanding access to Medicaid, fully funding rural health clinics, investing in mental health services for youth and families, and increasing resources for veterans who choose care outside the VA. We have a moral obligation to build a healthcare system that sees people as human, not as numbers on a budget line.

Democracy: Governing With the People, Not Over Them

Democracy only works when everyday people have the tools to hold politicians accountable, not just the wealthy, not just the well-connected, and not just during an election year.  I won’t just cast votes from behind a desk. I’ll show up, stay accessible, and make sure your voice is respected, protected, and powerful.

That means defending our constitutional right to ballot initiatives and referendums, which give citizens a direct voice when politicians refuse to act. These people-powered tools are under attack, and I’ll fight to protect them from partisan and bureaucratic sabotage.

Transparency is also non-negotiable. As your representative, I will fight to protect and strengthen the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) because Arkansans have a right to know how their government operates. Period.

Infrastructure:Building Smart Solutions for Growing Communities

Infrastructure isn’t just about roads and bridges, it’s also about broadband access, safe water systems, and reliable public transportation. Our state needs to invest in smart, sustainable infrastructure that connects people to opportunity. These are the building blocks of thriving communities.

To build infrastructure that lasts, we must also build it smarter. Advances in technology can help us plan, construct, and maintain public infrastructure more efficiently and cost-effectively. From using technology to detect early cracks in bridges before they become dangerous, to deploying smart sensors that monitor traffic patterns and reduce congestion, these technologies can stretch every taxpayer dollar further while keeping our communities safer.

This investment can also optimize energy use in public buildings, predict water system failures before they happen, and improve broadband deployment by mapping underserved areas with precision. By leveraging data and innovation, we can make infrastructure investments that are not only more resilient, but also more equitable and future-ready.
